Morgan Everett Ltd, incorporated in 2002, is the developer of the innovative PyroPure®
waste destruction system that eliminates the need to transport non-recyclable refuse to
landfill sites.
The STF invested £750,000 in Morgan Everett Ltd, to develop The Pyropure® technology
which enables some of the problems of waste disposal and collection to be resolved by
destruction of waste at source and use of the sewer system for disposal.

Lysanda, is a vehicle engineering business with a unique patented technology with
applications in vehicle emissions management. "Eco-Log", is aimed at the market for
commercial vehicles, public service vehicles and car fleets. Lysanda plans to launch
its Eco-Log technology into the fleet market in 2008, giving operators the ability
to monitor key data such as vehicle emissions and fuel economy and allowing them
to take steps to minimise the environmental impact and running costs of their vehicles.

Aquapharm, founded in 2000, is a marine natural products company that uses marine
bacteria, a very large untapped reservoir of novel natural products, and fungi to
produce and commercialise novel functional food compounds and pharmaceuticals.
The STF invested as part of a £1.9m funding round to develop Aquapharm’s anti-microbial
drug discovery business and to conduct pilot-scale manufacture and apply for Novel Food
status from the EU and FDA to allow sales into European and US markets.

Q Chip Ltd, incorporated in October 2003, has developed a proprietary, patented micro-fluidic
technology (MicroPlant™) that enables high value pharmaceutical and life science products
to be packaged in uniform polymer microspheres. This greatly reduces reagent resource usage
and increases reproducibility and reliability.
The STF invested a part of a £2m funding round. The funding will be used to scale up PRC
bead production and sales, expand the range of encapsulated reagents and strengthen the
management team. Other investors in the round included Finance Wales, Biofusion and
Geneva-based Forum of the Future.

Since 1997, PTL has developed revolutionary industrial ink jet systems designed for use
by manufacturers of printed circuit boards (PCBs). The technology offers electronics
companies time, cost and environmental savings through fewer manufacturing steps,
increased flexibility and reduced use of expensive and toxic materials.
The STF invested £600,000 in UK-based PTL. The investment is alongside private investors
in this funding round and will allow PTL to finalise product prototypes of its drop
placement engine in conjunction with its German partner KLG Maaschinen.
