E-Synergy was founded in 1999 by four technology entrepreneurs as an independent venture capital firm
focusing on early stage investments.
We believe that to be successful in early stage technology companies in particular, investors must
bring more than just capital to the table. The founding directors have over 50 years experience
themselves as CEOs of technology development and licensing companies.
This considerable expertise combined with the financial and VC experience of the E-Synergy investment
team enables us to take a hands on approach to investing and leverage real value from the capital
we provide.
We also manage a number of earlier stage funds including:
- East Midlands Early Growth Fund
• a £5m venture capital investment fund, funded via a grant from the East Midlands
Development Agency
- E-Synergy Early Growth Fund
• a £5m venture capital investment fund established in conjunction with the Secretary
of State for Trade and Industry (available in England and Wales only)
- Scottish Co-Investment Fund
• a £1.5m licence related to a Co-Investment Fund established by Scottish Enterprise, part
funded by the European Regional Development Fund (available for co-investment in Scotland only)
- Emerald Proof of Concept Fund • a £2.25m grant awarding fund managed by E-Synergy Limited
on behalf of a consortium of eight London Universities and the London Development Agency
- NI Invest Growth Fund • a £5m venture capital investment fund, funded by Invest N. Ireland
- NI Invest Growth Proof of Concept Fund • a £3m grant awarding fund managed by E-Synergy Limited
on behalf of and funded by Invest N. Ireland
E-Synergy also runs AngelNet,
a business angel network,
Access to Finance Showcase Events
(an initiative to assist East Midlands based early stage companies)
and Investment Readiness Programmes
in conjunction with the Carbon Trust, London Development Agency and the European Space Agency.
